On Friday, July 12, a textile artist, professor, lecturer and founder of the Latvian Textile Art Association AIJA BAUMANE has passed away.

Everybody of us has his own experiance with, story and memories about Aija Baumane. Someone has respected and admired the wisdom of Aija’s heart, the power of her spirit, and the talent. Whatever Aija did, she did with her true love and deep respect for her students, colleagues and fellow men, devoting herself and her life to textile art.
